a good kind day

sleep was at a premium last night as i process life's gifts which sometimes come at the end of a very pointed stick. and yet. and yet this was a good kind day.

at the end of the day as a solace to the torment of wanting to be so very good despite my lack of sleep, i made my way to the water's edge noticing that the river has opened up considerably now and so the shoreline ice is there but not so very there.

i clambered down the embankment and lying down on my tummy i stuck my camera into a crack in the ice and saw this image. well i didn't see it until i got home and there it is. a cellophane wrapper melding its sensuous artifice with the rapidly melting ice . . .
