evening of august 12. 2011 bronte creek

a silver edge to every cloud
scallop-shelled out from above the very late sunset trees to the south.

a small growing point of light, it rounded and swelled, pregnant with moonbeams that lit
the small enclave of tents i was one small part of.

music for alongside the moment experiencing: "last night the moon came . . . " jon hassell

This captures the mood and the moment. I felt as if I was out there in the moonlight, too. I love the silence of the night with punctuation of sounds.
Last night, I sat out in candlelight.

yes ellen - the evening of day seven of a nine-day fundraising cycling trip around lake ontario - eleven hundred kilometres - scenes and moments will pop up here every so often. steven

deborah - i'm glad you like this. steven

aguja - the campsite was quiet - except for laughter and the crackling fire. it's so hard to take photographs of the moon. if your hand jiggles even the slightest, then the moon blurs. i did a few light paintings with that effect but they weren't worthy of much. steven

kay - i feel fortunate to have the pictures and to be able to share them. the header picture was taken in upper new york state not far from rochester actually. it's in a small wetland that i spent a few hours exploring. steven

You should put together an album of headers, They have the wow factor and it goes without saying that I love your moon.

Are you all set for a new term?

valerie thanks for that! i keep the headers in a folder. i've never thought about sharing them any other way. steven

Your header is like a painting.

The moon has such a hold over us. Never ceases to enthrall me.
