skies in motion

a team of scientists in zurich have assembled a seventy-two second video that displays the flight path of every plane in the world over a twenty-four hour period. the ebbs and flows of concentrated activity make for lovely patterns and conjecture as to what time of day it is and where some of those less-travelled routes go.

Fascinating stuff, Steven! I watched video after video, and then decided to include a couple in a post of my own.
