greenpeace . . . the measure of electronics




this was just released by greenpeace and places the platform of my choice - being apple - squarely in the middle at this point having moved across the spectrum somewhat since the first iteration of this measuring device. yep. there's my platform-of-choice sitting-on-the-fence between either end of the spectrum of electronics manufacturers and their commitment (or not) to providing products that are manufactured in circumstances promoting the health of our planet and containing materials promoting the health of our planet.

it's intriguing to me that apple would find itself placed there because my own intuitive sense of the corporate ethos of apple would suggest that they might and should wish to meld the cutting edge, high-end technology they provide within a sustainable model.

i'm looking at a new laptop sometime in the next few months and while apple would be my first choice, i'll have to wait and see.
